Friday was a very late night after a fun evening of playing games at the Andes' house. I didn't get to sleep until 12:30, after getting an email from a friend telling me that she was diagnosed with breast cancer. It has already spread to her lymph nodes so it is categorized as being stage 2. She will have to undergo surgery, chemo and radiation. My heart goes out to her and I just pray that the doctors are able to get this evil monster out of her body. This is my third Pep Mom friend (under the age of 40) that has been diagnosed with breast cancer.
This morning I didn't crawl out of bed until 9:15 and the washing machine repair man called by 9:30. It didn't take two minutes for him to tell us what the problem was. There's two concrete blocks inside of a washing machine and one was broken and rocking around inside. I will be without a washing machine for another 10 days!! GREAT.... Once the repairman left, we kicked it in high gear and showered and dressed so we could make it to the 11:45 showing of Hotels for Dogs. Once we got settled (14 of us), we had only seen about a 1/3 of the movie when the screen went black and the fire alarms started sounding. It turned out there was a pipe in the sprinkler system that ruptured and set the alarm off. However, as we were leaving, it truly smelt like something plastic was burning. One of the employees told us they thought it was a gas link. Who knows what happened!! We ended up meeting Melissa and her kids at McDonalds and let them play for about two hours. Maddie ended up coming home with us so she could spend the night (Maggie spent the night over there last night).
We hung out at Granny & Papaw's for a little while, but the screaming, arguing and whining was getting old. We came home in time to eat dinner. The girls enjoyed watching Cadet Kelly and now they are getting settled for bed.
