What a wonderful Christmas!! We were very busy, but the girls loved every minute of it. We spent Christmas Eve at Grandbob & Cacki's for a drop-in chili dinner. Daddy escaped a little early to get some wrapping done and we waited to see Libby and Jim before making our escape!! On our way home, we drove through the neighborhood to look at all of the pretty lights one more time. The last time Cacki got to see the lights, she was lost and it was foggy. The girls were exhausted by the time we got home even though Molly had taken almost a three hour nap. Jessica and Olivia sent the night with us the night before and Molly had spent the night with Papaw, so when she got home she was worn out. I never dreamed she would sleep so long with Jessica and Olivia at our house.
Maggie and Molly got to open one present each on Christmas Eve which of course was their matching pajamas. Maggie apparently didn't like them and wasn't happy about wearing them, but in the end she made the right decision. The girls were in bed and asleep by 10:00. I set the alarm for 7:30, but we ended up getting up at 7:15. I had drank too much tea at Cacki's the night before, so I didn't get to sleep until 4:30 - yuck!! The girls woke up excited and ready to open presents. This was Maggie's first year that she wasn't overwhelmed by it all. Molly of course completely got it this year and was thrilled to open all of her presents!!
Maggie's big things for the year were: a Bratz remote control car that Miley hates!! Bratz dolls, Barbie doll, polly pockets, gumball machine, sleeping bag, Little Pet Shop tree house and a keyboard.
Molly's big things were: Polly pocket race track, puzzles, puzzles and more puzzles, moon sand and play-doh (or potatoes as she calls it), cash register, a DS of her own, and an art easle.
Daddy finally got his car stereo that he has been wanting for over a year. He got a couple movies, socks and some essentials..
Christmas was spent on the go. We left our house at 9:00 to go to Granny's. We stayed there until 3:15 and then headed to Cacki's. We ate dinner with them at 5:00 and then we got home at 8:45. The kids were exhausted along with Mommy and Daddy. I hope to one year figure out a way for us to have more time at home on Christmas day. Today was essentially like our Christmas day at home because the girls finally got to play with everything they got. Unfortunately it was Christmas without Mike because he had to go to work.
We stayed in our pajamas for a good part of the day getting everything unpacked and ready to take the trash to the dump. We headed toward Cacki's at 4:00 to take back Jessica and Hutch's Christmas presents because the didn't fit. We said our final goodbyes at 7:00 and headed home for pizza.. Now we are looking forward to our visit from the Pogue's!!
