Happy 4th of July!!

Okay, so I am once again really behind!! The past week and a half has been crazy.. We haven't done a lot, but we have been busy, does that make sense? It's been one of those weeks that I really can't even look back on and figure out what we did on which day.

On Tuesday, Mike and I celebrated our 8th Anniversary. Mom and Dad watched the girls so we could at least sneak out to dinner. We enjoyed a wonderful meal at Lakeside Tavern.

On Wednesday we took Dad to the doctor for blood work. That was an interesting trip. Have you ever taken someone in excruciating pain on a car ride with three kids? Stressful!! And then left him in a car while you go in for prescriptions? He wasn't a happy camper!!

Thursday, Dad felt up to hanging out by the pool with us, so he brought Cameron over. Melissa, Kelly and Whitney all joined us for a relaxing afternoon. Dad got to see what the stay-at-home Mom life looks like.

Friday, I went to the dermatologist to have some spots checked out on my back and then delivered my books while Cacki enjoyed some "play-time" with the girls.

Saturday we got a slow start and Maggie decided at 11:30 that she desperately wanted a friend to come over and play. Try finding a family at home on Saturday afternoon that doesn't already have plans. We ended up borrowing Julia for the afternoon and the girls went swimming before we went to see Ratatouille at the theater. Afterwards, we met Judith at Pizza Hut for dinner.

Sunday was church and then we came home and relaxed for a little while before we went to Cacki's for dinner. Grandbob was out of town, so she offered to let both girls have a sleepover with her. They had a blast!! Maggie was very sad to leave and she explained to me later that she doesn't get to see Cacki as much as she would like to, that's why she cries when she leaves her. On our way home from dropping the girls off on Sunday night, Mike and I decided to do something totally random. We parked at Tennessee Bank and walked to the theater to see Evan Almighty and then we walked back to our car. It was close to six miles round trip. We were pooped to say the least!!

Monday, Erica came over for a little while to swim. Mike played ultimate frisbee while me and the girls enjoyed dinner with my parents.
Tuesday, Dad took me and the girls fishing.. It started off slow, but by the end, we had caught almost 30 fish. Molly quickly realized "shishing" wasn't all it was cracked up to be. We left at 9:00 and didn't get back to Papaw's until almost 2:00. Molly stayed to nap with Papaw while I took Maggie to meet Annabella to go see Ratatouille again. They brought her home after the movie because the Pelot's came over to eat, swim and have fun.. Maggie had a great time swimming with their girls and she learned a lot. She learned how to do the backstroke and she is great at it!!

Today, well it's July 4th!! Maggie and I got up really early and got ready for the parade. Maggie's first experience riding in the parade. We got to hand out Kids' Directories with a new place opening called Sprouts. After the parade, we had lunch with Daddy and Cacki at Pimento's. Then we came home and Maggie entertained Daddy while Mommy snuck in a short nap with Molly until Bubba arrived. Granny and Papaw finally showed up with yummy food and Maggie had a blast playing monkey in the middle with them in the pool. As the day was winding down and Maggie had finished challenging everyone to a race, she decided she wanted to practice riding her bike. After everyone left and it was just me and her (Molly, too) she finally figured out how to get started by herself. She can officially ride alone!! Maggie didn't put up a fuss about going to bed. She was exhausted!! Molly saw how good Maggie did going to bed, so about an hour later, she told me she wanted to go to bed like Maggie and she didn't put up a fuss at all. I wish every night was that easy.
