May 1 - A great way to start summer!!

Today was Maggie's first Field Day at school.. Cacki picked Molly up and took her for a picnic at the Cove, which was a very special time for the two of them. Maggie got to enjoy lots of fun picnics alone with Cacki at the park, but this was a first with Molly. Needless to say, Molly was worn out by 11:30 and fell asleep in the car on the way home. Mommy and Granny went to the school to be with Maggie for her exciting day. She was very apprehensive at first, but after finally agreeing to give the three legged race a shot, she realized she would have more fun participating then being a cheerleader pouting on the sidelines. They had a jump rope station, hoola-hoop station, fill the bucket with a sponge of water, egg race, two headed monster race, relay race (which Maggie did awesome) and several others. Maggie enjoyed being outside with her friends and getting to have fun and be silly. It was definitely an opportunity to see that the outgoing Maggie that bravely got in Greg Russel's lap and sang to a crowd is slowly fading and she is becoming a little more reserved and cautious about things that could lead to an embarassing moment. Why do kids have to lose that innocence so quickly?

When we got home from school, the pool had reached 72 degrees, so I agreed to let them put their bathing suits on and stick their feet in the water. That led to their knees and the next thing I knew, Maggie and Brandon were flying off the diving board. They had a blast. There is something so exciting about the first swim of the season. I'm glad Maggie had friend's to share that with today. What would summer be like without the Pack kids?

Molly covered in lotion!! Second time in two weeks.. She has an infatuation with lotion!!
