Today was a new first for Maggie - her first visit to the dentist. I accidentally dropped the bomb on her yesterday right before I was suppose to do car door duty and she cried and cried. Luckily her friends and Miss Craig were there to reassure her that it was no big deal. She told me as we were pulling into the parking lot of Children's Dentistry that she was a little nervous. She was very excited to hear a girl's voice call her back and she explained every step of the process to her. The did x-rays, brushed her teeth with bubblegum flavored paste and Dr. Daryl checked out her teeth... NO CAVITIES!! We must be doing something right with the tooth brush at home. She does have some kind of bite issue that will have to be checked out when her six year old molars are in. He said that your top teeth should come down on the outside of the bottom, but on the right side her jaw is shifted and her bottom teeth are on the outside. If it doesn't correct itself, he said there was an appliance she would have to wear to space out the top teeth. $159 later, we at least had a tooth brush, toy and a t-shirt to show for it!!
