Great Day for a Playdate!!

Today was a great day for a play date.. We picked Kelly and her kids up at 10:00 and headed downtown to the World's Fair Park for a day of fun.. We met Melissa and Ginny at Ft. Kid play area and it was packed full of kids. That is one of the most difficult places to keep up with your kids, so we didn't last too long there. We loaded up the strollers and headed down to the Fountain where the kids had a blast getting wet. On the way, Maggie stopped at a drain and when I told her to come on, she had the most sad look on her face. She pointed down and said she lost her shoe. Somehow, she managed to lost her flip flop down the drain. Luckily, Melissa figured out that we could pull the drain cover off (it was so heavy) and then we couldn't get any of the kids to volunteer to be lowered down into the hole, so Melissa jumped down and rescued the shoe. Valuable lesson learned today!! After playing in the water for about and hour, and eating lunch, we pulled out the never boring chalk and Melissa had nesting buckets and the kids were good for another hour or two.. We got there downtown at 10:30 and it was almost 3:00 when we got home. Needless to say the girls are taking a nap so they Maggie can participate in gymnastics. Maggie really enjoyed getting to play with Natalie today. It's sad that she really doesn't have much memory of playing with her so much when they were younger. Every day I learn something new about Molly and it amazes me how different she is from Maggie. Recently I have been amazed by how much less sleep she can operate on and today it was that she doesn't love water the way Maggie does. She was very content to hang right around me the whole time we were there. She played a little with the chalk and the buckets, but it took all the nerve she had to go up to the water to get a piece of chalk wet. She's a funny little girl..
