Only an Allison would cut the landscaping to make a trampoline fit where they want it!!We have three huge crate myrtles at the end of our driveway and Mike and my Dad were both willing to cut them down if it meant the trampoline could be at the top of the hill.. So at 9:00 this morning our adventure began. Dad and I started putting the trampoline together and we looked like two clowns. As soon as we would get one bar together another one would fall off. Dad got the bright idea that we would put the bottom connectors of the legs on last. He was sure if we had the mat on that would make it easier. If you have ever seen a pizza dough being tossed in the air, that's what the frame looked like with all of the pressure of the mat on it. We had to take all of the springs off again and put it together in the right order. The girls were so excited they couldn't wait for it to be finished to "jump". Molly got special privileges - she got to jump while Papaw was still putting the springs on. We got the trampoline put up and the enclosure bars on in 1 hour and 20 minutes. All I had to do when we got home from Chuck E Cheese was put the net around it. Papaw got back just in time to help us put it in place. Of course the trees needed some trimming and we were able to make the trampline fit!! They have had so much fun on it!!
We met Kim, Abby and Drew at Chuck E Cheese at 11:00. It doesn't take me long to remember what I don't like about Chuck E Cheese - $21.50 later I can easily tell you!! Maggie had a great time, but the line was so long to redeem your tickets that we didn't even waste the time. They had one guy working the counter and he didn't get in any hurry. Molly wasn't happy to have to leave and she creamed all the way home. Made it easy to put her down for a nap and that is exactly what she needed. I went outside and put the net on the enclosure, cut the grass, went over to the neighbors to look at bunk beds and still ended up having to wake her up. She slept 3 hours.. Who knows if she will go back to sleep tonight.
Maggie was all cuddled up on the couch with her Daddy last night and asked him in her irresistible voice "will you call in sick tomorrow?". It melted his heart. He explained that he couldn't just call in sick because that's not the right thing to do (plus I'm sure going to Chuck E Cheese wasn't his favorite idea of how to spend a day off). He told her if she would call Larry today and ask him if he could take Thursday off he would do that. She used her big girl voice and called Larry and asked if her Daddy could be off work and he said yes.. Daddy gets to accompany us to the zoo tomorrow!!
